Nathanial Bradshaw

Nat studied Information Systems at The University of Melbourne before working as an International Fellow at Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Singapore where he taught Business IT, programming and database concepts.

Nat then worked as an IT consultant in Singapore specialising in web application development and portal deployment. Since qualifying as a teacher, Nat has worked at Caroline Chisholm Catholic College in Braybrook where he is currently the Discipline Area Coordinator for Information Technology.

Nat's interests include programming and games design.

Adrian Janson

Adrian Janson has been a committed IT teacher for 18 years with the majority of his career at Melbourne High School, a select entry school for high achieving year 9 to 12 boys.

Adrian has written a number of textbooks that have been successfully used in classrooms around the world. His latest books "Visual Basic for Education" and "Visual Basic.Net for Education" have sold thousands of copies and are based on teaching software development through the use of game design in order to be relevant and innovative in teaching secondary students. Most recently, Adrian has been teaching XBOX programming to his classes and has been featured in the media for his work in this area.

Adrian's qualifications include a Bachelor of Science [Monash University, Melbourne, Australia], Postgraduate Diploma in Education [Monash University, Melbourne, Australia], Master of Education (Information and communication technologies) [Monash University, Melbourne, Australia].

Adrian is currently the elected President of the Victorian Information Technology Teachers Association (VITTA) and has attended and presented at numerous conferences on IT education both nationally and internationally.

Adrian was selected to be on a Victorian Curriculum Assessment Authority (VCAA) review committee assigned the role of writing the new Victorian Certificate of Education curriculum for Information Technology.

Enthusiasm and passion for teaching IT through games has been the mainstay of Adrian’s career. Games are fun and engaging for students but they also offer real opportunity for teachers such as Adrian to orchestrate deep and authentic learning in IT.

Dr Tim Kitchen

Dr Tim Kitchen is the Head of Learning Technologies at Strathcona Baptist Girls Grammar School in Melbourne. Tim has a strong passion for encouraging ICT use (in particular multimedia) in all levels of education and promoting effective teaching approaches. He is a regular presenter at a range of state-wide, national and international education conferences and he writes for a range of educational textbooks and journals.

Outside of ICT in education, Tim has a strong passion for interfaith dialogue and coordinates the eastern region of the Victorian Building
Bridges program. He is married and has a beautiful 9 yr old daughter. His other passions include video editing, bike riding, watching and playing cricket and supporting the St Kilda Football Club.

Peter Nash

Peter comes to the VITTA Committee with a range of experiences including senior systems and laboratory management roles with well known companies like AWB Ltd. In the last 9 years Peter has been teaching senior IT and VET IT. He have been member of VITTA for all of his teaching career, now being a member of the VITTA committee for the last four years with a VET focus.

Peter is actively involved with the mentoring teachers at Galvin Park Secondary College to effectively use ICT in the curriculum. VITTA has provided Peter many opportunities for his own professional learning, to network with a wide range of teachers and further develop his knowledge in use of ICT in education. Peter enjoys helping others and spreads his knowledge and skills to many other teachers particularly in VET. Peter contributes to all aspects fo the VITTA organisation, that is, VET and elearning professional learning and events, VET resources, and contributing to the VET IT online education communities.

Jill Reading

Jill is an experienced classroom teacher who has spent most of her career in Melbourne's western suburbs and is currently an Ultranet Coach for the Moonee Valley Network of schools. She is passionate about the use of Information & Communications Technologies (ICT) to support
learning and moved into the role of Regional Curriculum Consultant in 1999. Her role involved working with schools on Professional Development relating to ICT and organising events such as film training, student led professional development involving teachers and students learning together as well as Expos of promising ICT practice.

In 2005 Jill was named the ICTEV Leader of the Year and in 2008 was awarded a UNESCO commendation for ICT leadership. In 2010 Jill has developed a new ANSN hub focussing on 1:1 Laptop Learning for schools -a developing area enabling schools to support their 21st Century
students and the way they learn. Jill regularly writes the Primary Resources page for VITTA's Infonet journal and has written articles of the importance of school leadership being critical in the eLearning development of their school.
