The VITTA Conference dinner has grown from strength to strength. The dinner provides an opportunity for exhibitors, presenters and educators to network in an informal setting. The night is also significant as the VITTA community have the chance to recognise outstanding achievements and contributions by our teachers to student learning.

This year we welcome AVID as a major sponsor of the conference dinner. AVID is at the forefront of providing music and media education through various digital technologies. AVID will be providing the musical entertainment at the VITTA Conference. We look forward to this exciting component of the evening.

Our dinner guest speaker is Colin Evans, Business Development Manager of a Tasmanian based company, Multi-Ed. Colin is using mobile technologies in the health and education sector.

Colin manages business development for the Australian and Asian operations of the Multi-ed group. Colin has held senior management and leadership roles within the engineering and technology industries throughout Australia, Asia and Antarctica.
Colin has successfully negotiated and developed contracts in South Korea,(MOSTECH.Co.Kr), Japan (UNL Laboratories), Malaysia (Maxis Mobile
& Mutual Digital Sdn Bhd) & Singapore (Singapore Heart Foundation, Ericsson IPX & StarHub Communications).

Colin Evans is a professional engineer with more than 25 years experience in engineering projects over 3 continents and has a Masters degree in Engineering from the University of New South Wales and an MBA with a specialisation in International Business from the University of Southern Queensland.


Brett Lee iNESS
iNESS creator, Brett Lee, worked as a Queensland Police Officer for 22 years, 16 of those as a Detective in the field of Child Exploitation. In his last five years of service, he was a specialist in the field of undercover internet child exploitation investigations. Brett has been personally involved in the online investigation, arrest and prosecution of numerous offenders, whose medium for preying on children is the internet.

During his time in the Qld Police Service, Brett delivered lectures to numerous school students, teachers and parent groups. These lectures were delivered to both State and non-government schools on all issues relating to internet safety. This inspired a passion to impart his expert knowledge to as many children as possible to ensure they remain safe online. In the area of online internet investigations, Brett has delivered training/instruction to members of law enforcement agencies including New South Wales Police, South Australian Police, West Australian Police and Australian Customs. Within his own police service he was involved in the training of plain clothes police through Detective Training and Sexual Crimes courses in Online Child Exploitation investigations.

Surround are a dynamic 5 piece band who have entertained audiences at some of Australia’s most exclusive venues including the Crown Palladium, the Sofitel, the Hyatt Grand Ballroom, The Melbourne Cup, and the Darwin Casino for the Qantas Darwin Cup Ball.

The band have a wealth of experience, a tried and true repertoire to get their audiences out of their seats, and have them dancing and singing along, and lighting and sound production to deliver superbly. The lead vocal presence and explosive movement of lead singer Caroline Whitty is just layer one of one of Melbourne’s most vibrant acts. This will be a night not to miss. Opera singer Lucy Nicolson will be enticing educators and education suppliers with songs made renown by Marlene Dietrich, to inspire interest in the 2010 VITTA Study Tour lead by Gerry White which includes Online Educa Berlin.

Lucy has performed with the Victorian State Opera Chorus in “Turandot”, “Aida” and “Cheneir”.
She has performed various operatic leads: Menotti's “The Medium” , Poulenc's “The Human Voice” Verdi's 'Traviata” and numerous leading ladies in operetta “The Merry Widow”,”Katinka”and the “Student Prince”. In “G&S” Lucy has performed the roles of “Aline”,”Patience”,”Mabel”,”The Duchess” and 'Lady Blanche'. Her favourite genre is 'Musical Theatre' where she has played the part of 'Tzietel” in “Fiddler on the Roof” , 'Kate' in “Kiss me Kate” Join us in welcoming Lucy to the Slide to Open ~ digital learning VITTA conference and dinner. We are really looking forward to this performance.

The VITTA Conference Dinner on Tuesday 24 November is an important social event for delegates and exhibitors. Held in the spectacular Peak level, overlooking Flemington Racecourse with stunning city views, this is the perfect location to enjoy canapes, a two-course meal and entertainment with colleagues and friends.

The evening's entertainment includes live music with 5 piece band, Surround, a presentation from guest speaker Colin Evans, Opera singer Lucy Nicolson and announcement of the VITTA Outstanding Achievement Awards.
