New Presenters 2009

New Presenters to the VITTA Conference may need read the following information to assist you with submitting an abstract.

VITTA Annual Conference New Presenters’ Information

If you are a new presenter at the VITTA Conference you may wish to read the following 7 steps which will guide you to submit an abstract.

Step 1 Go to VITTA Website and Click on VITTA Conference button on the left of screen in the navigation bar

Step 2 At the Conference page Click on Call for Papers weblink

Step 3 Choose New User and fill in your details Click Sign Up

Step 4 The Submit Your Abstract Screen will appear

You will need to provide the following detail Title – The title of your presentation Additional Presenters - Click No or Yes.
If you Click Yes a new pop up will appear and you can fill in these details.
Stream – You can single or multi-select the Stream
• Early Years
• ICT Careers and Industry Based Learning
• Middle Years
• Music
• Primary
• Principals & ICT Leaders
• Secondary
• Senior Years (VCT)
• Technical
• VET Information Technology, VCAL
• VET Interactive Digital Media (Formerly VET Multimedia)

Short Description – Provide a short description of your presentation. This will be used in the conference program for the web and in print.

Session Style - Click the session style of your presentation.
Lecture (60 minutes)
Lecture (120 minutes)
Debate (60 minutes)
Debate (120minutes)
Forum ( 60 minutes)
Forum (120 minutes)
Lab ( Please specify Operating System)
Tour (Half Day)
Tour (Full Day)
Pre-Conference Event (Half Day) Pre-Cofnerence Event (Full Day)

Platform – If you choose a lab presentation you will need to specify what platform you require. There are usually 20 – 25 computers in a lab.

VITTA appreciates the contribution of commercial presentations to inform delegates of the relevance to teaching and learning in the classroom

Agreement to supply Conference Resources – Each delegate at the conference has the opportunity to download presentations provided at the Conference. These resources are an important professional learning resource available from the VITTA website directly after the conference. The Resource can be a word document, pdf, powerpoint, web link, flash file or zipped set of resources. Please clearly name these if they are to be sent in the mail. VITTA appreciates you adding as much detail to the resources so that the files can be easily found, for example, Session Title, Author, Audience, File types (if zipped), Keywords.

Step 5 Click Save Changes if you are happy with the accuracy of the information. You may login again to later.
NOTE : IT IS BETTER TO SAVE CHANGES REGULARLY AS THE LIVE WEBFORM MAY TIME OUT AND YOU WILL LOSE YOUR INFORMATION.
TIP: Prepare the information in a word document before you submit your abstract. Then you can copy and paste detail into the form.

Step 6 Submit for Review – When you click this button a popup will appear asking you whether you are sure you wish to submit for review. You cannot make any further changes through the Pending Review process.

Step 7 Abstract confirmation
You should receive an email indicating that you have submitted an abstract for review. If not please contact the VITTA office at conference@vitta.org.au
