In the last thirty years computer game consoles, home computers and now the internet has become an important role in the lives of people around the world. Interactive technology is changing the very nature on how we interact and communicate with each other.
The emergence of virtual environments offers many advantages to the
learning process. Computer games such as Empire Earth, World of War Craft, Second life, Bridge it and many sporting games have the potential for motivating and involving students in an interactive learning process.
The vast variety of games that are available today can be utilised to
any learning field in a formal educational environment.
This presentation will provide information and examples on how modern interactive environments can contribute to the learning process, motivate students and be in tune with today’s technological social change. It will also include the most important question? Where do I start?
