ICT Industry Bus Tour - Applications Open!

Have you ever wondered what career paths are available in the ICT industry? The ICT Week Industry Bus Tour, to be held on Friday July 30, will see 40 ICT and Careers teachers from around the state conduct site visits at several locations throughout Melbourne. Each location will provide a different insight into the ICT industry. This could be you - Register now!

8:30am Departure

9:00am Site Visit 1 National ICT Australia (NICTA) is Australia’s Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Centre of Excellence at The University of Melbourne (includes morning tea)

10:30am In Transit Industry Speaker 1

11:00am Centre for Astrophysics and Supercomputing, Swinburne University dedicated to fascination in the Universe through research and education including Astronomy Visualisation, Star & Planet Formation, Pulsars, Globular Clusters, Supermassive Black Holes, Galaxy Evolution and Big Bang Cosmology

12:00 pm In Transit Industry Speaker 2

12:45 pm Site Visit 3 Monash University Caulfied Includes Lunch, Computer Games (with Andrew Owen) and computer museum tour – lunch provided

2:15 pm In Transit Industry Speaker 3

3:00 pm Screenworlds @ Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI) Federation Square

4:15 pm Signal Creative Arts Centre for young people Signal is Melbourne’s first arts studio dedicated to people aged 13 to 20

5:15 pm Return to VITTA

The day will not only be a fun introduction to possibilities in the ICT industry, but also a great way to network with colleagues and industry representatives.
