The VITTA Fellowship

Purpose:

To assist a VITTA member embarking on a project which will add value to the Information Communication Technology Teaching and Learning community.

The Award:

The successful applicant will be awarded a fellowship and a certificate commemorating the achievement.

Expectations:

The recipient of the fellowship:

  • Will complete a project or undertaking that is relevant to VITTA's mission and beneficial to the ICT teaching community on behalf of the VITTA membership
  • Undertake research that will result in improved learning outcome for students P-12;
  • Will write and present a paper based on the outcomes of their project/undertaking at the VITTA Annual Conference;
  • Will submit extracts of their research/findings/experiences in electronic format for publication in both InfoNet and the VITTA web site

The Process:

VITTA Members are required to submit a proposal to the VITTA Committee.

All proposals must:

  • Can be submitted as a written application as an email, webpage, blog, multimedia or using any other ICT tool
  • Contain all details of the proposed project or undertaking;
  • Contain details of how the project or undertaking will benefit the Information Communication Technology Teaching community;
  • Demonstrate how the research that will result in improved professional learning for teachers and effective learning outcomes for students;
  • Be achievable within one year;
  • Include the names and contact details of two referees;

Proposals must be submitted no later than the 31st March in each year.

Applicants may be required to make a short presentation to the VITTA Committee of Management regarding their intended research. The Committee Of Management is the sole arbiter for the determination of the recipient of the Award. The decision is final and no correspondence shall be entered into. VITTA Committee members are ineligible to apply for this award.
