VITTA would like to offer teachers the opportunity to join the VITTA team!
An opportunity is now available for a teacher interested in a 0.6 role in the Project Learning office.
The Victorian Information Technology Teachers Association (VITTA) is looking for an experienced Project Officer who has also worked in the field of education to provide direction, develop, implement and support VITTA’s professional development programs.
VITTA offers an excellent team based working environment.
This is a leadership position and the Scope of Duties will include management of:
• the development of a dynamic professional learning program to meet all VITTA stakeholder members
• VITTA Professional Learning Business Unit which includes planning for annual program for teacher and student based events and activities which aim to enhance digital learning skills and promote ICT student pathways
• Review and development of Professional Learning policies
• administration tasks for Professional Learning activities and events including budgeting for the professional learning activities, negotiating speaker fees, seeking and confirming of speakers, catering, monitoring and communication to participants, communications and marketing, quality testing of service to members
• monthly reports and other general reports
• Reporting to the VITTA Committee of Management
In addition as part of the Professional Learning subcommittee including sponsors:
• Assist in the design, development of content and maintenance of professional learning content on the VITTA website
• Contribute to relevant professional learning materials for VITTA publications and communications
• Maintain accurate record keeping and time-lines
• Research activities particularly relevant to professional learning and ICT competencies
• Creating and maintaining media links with newspapers, magazines, radio and television where applicable
• Liaise with stakeholder organisations
• Contribute regularly to education online communities to seek advice and inform members
• Provide assistance to other Team members when required
To be successful, you should ideally have:
• Project management experience
• Ability to take initiative, respond to challenges and set priorities
• Initiative and problem solving ability
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal communication and teaming skills
• Excellent organisational skills
• Excellent reporting skills
• Knowledge of and experience in the education sector K-12
• Event planning experience
• Web design, editing and management skills
• Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills
• Excellent Clerical Skills
• Excellent customer service skills
